I just reread Arbitrage and I’m listening to Baby Don’t Cry and just thinking about EXO in general and like overwhelmed with love for kaisoo and baekyeol and basically having the feels from ALL of exo’s angsty fics slapping me in the face and I’ve been up all night so I’m super emotional now and oh god someone hold me

I’ve been hearing all sorts of rumors and I’d like to give an opinion on how I think the comeback might go
please don’t take any of this as fact, but this is just what would make sense to me.
Kai said something about a whole new song for the next album after the MAMA promotions ended. So I think a teaser song like Run & Gun or Let Out the Beast isn’t going to be the title track. Remember we hadn’t heard ANY of MAMA until their showcase? I think the next title track will be a completely new song like that.
I also think EXO is going to continue the plotline they have right now. Those teasers weren’t built up for nothing, and I really believe SM has been planning a plotline for a long time. So the music video is going to be an extension of MAMA. We might even get another “when the skies” intro thing.
In MAMA, it’s like all the members were waking up their powers, so I think the new music video will have them using their powers for something - they might be fighting, or saving the planet (Either Earth or EXOPlanet).
There’s a rumor that the new concept will be totally opposite of MAMA. So maybe the sound will be a lot different, but I think we can expect something really epic and not cutesy or carefree. It will still be serious, and since SM seems to be milking the ‘screaming’ talents of some members, we might get a screamo part for this song too.
Remember when EXO-K said their powers aren’t so strong on Earth, and that next time we’ll see more of their powers? This makes me think the new concept will be based on EXOPlanet and we’ll get to see them use their powers a lot. Again, we’ll probably see more development of the plot SM has made for them so far.
No matter what happens, I’m really excited for the comeback and I’m pretty sure it will be just as good, if not better, than the MAMA album. -
